Jeanne helped Vocus conquer its "email control deterioration" issue and develop a third-party list rental compaign that exceeded the return-on-investment for mailings to the Vocus house list.
Vocus was running their email marketing on a direct mail model -- they would mail their "control" email to their house list each month. After two or three months, the response to the email would drop off dramatically -- causing them to constantly scramble for a new offer to engage prospects.
By creating a "two control" schedule, where the control creatives were alternated each month, Jeanne was able to increase the livelihood of each creative execution. The two "control" efforts had similar response rates -- and they didn't deteriorate nearly as quickly, since each was sent only every other month.
Jeanne also helped implement a third-party email list rental strategy, which ended up producing a higher return-on-investment than mailings to the house list. This is very unusual, but with the right lists and the right creative, it can be a profitable email marketing strategy.
